Position: Ophthalmic Technician-Retina

EYE-Q Vision Care is seeking internal applicants for the position of Ophthalmic Technician to join our Retina team. We are seeking an employee with great interpersonal skills who can develop relationships with patients and staff and thrive in a fast-paced environment. In this position, the employee will perform basic, advanced, and complex procedures.

Qualified candidates would be expected to:

• Perform accurate and consistent documentation and measurement tasks.

• Assist physician with laser procedures (MD schedules).

• Assist physician with minor procedures, maintaining practice standards of sterile technique and infection control.

• Provide patient home care instructions and counseling.

• Take patients blood pressure as necessary.

• Clarify pre- and post-op instructions with patients.

• Scribe for the doctors as part of daily assignments.

Qualifications:

• Knowledge of Medical Terminology.

• Knowledge of instruments routinely used in office.

• Familiarity with medications and ocular disease processes.

• Knowledge of Electronic Medical Records, Nextgen (preferred).

• Bilingual in Spanish (preferred).

Education:

• High School Diploma/GED.

• Six months to one-year-related customer service experience and/or technical school training.

• Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (preferred).

​

Pay Range:

• $21.00-$32.00 per hour depending on skills, experience, and education.

​
